Description
Bodega Taqueria y Tequila is seeking a dynamic and experienced Counter Server to join our team. As a Counter Server, you will serve food and beverage items to customers in a friendly, enthusiastic, professional, and timely manner from our Taqueria Airstream. You will provide friendly, courteous, and efficient service to ensure guests have an optimal experience. You will also support packaging and delivery of online and take-out orders. This role requires a passion for hospitality and attention to detail. The individual reports to the General Manager or Assistant General Manager in their absence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Team Collaboration
- Create and maintain a positive work environment, fostering teamwork and growth.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff and team members for smooth operations.
- Communicate customer feedback and requests to management.
- Assist with restocking supplies and inventory management.
- Partner with third-party contacts for timely order receipt.
- Collaborate on planning and executing events and promotions.
Quality Control
- Maintain stock of supplies and monitor inventory levels.
- Inform kitchen staff of ingredient levels, spoilage, or quality issues.
- Address beverage quality concerns promptly.
- Develop knowledge of beverages and their preparation.
Operations Support
- Familiarize with menu items and specials to upsell effectively.
- Suggest complementary menu items.
- Perform setup duties for stations and storage areas.
- Prepare and assemble menu items per recipes and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in food prep areas.
Customer Service
- Ensure responsible service of alcohol, avoiding minors and intoxicated persons.
- Create a welcoming atmosphere and engage with guests.
- Communicate effectively and respond to requests.
- Maintain composure during busy times.
- Work closely with departments to uphold service standards.
Compliance and Safety
- Follow health, safety, and internal policies.
- Handle food and alcohol responsibly and legally.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred prior experience in customer or food service.
- Basic math and cash handling skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Knowledge of food safety practices.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays.
- Professional integrity and safety awareness.
- Ability to work under pressure with accuracy.
