Job summary

Shepherd Electric Supply is seeking a Counter Sales Representative to be the first voice and last impression for customers, both in-person and over the phone. You will ensure accurate quotes, quick product identification, and smooth order processing to protect revenue and foster loyalty.

The role requires a proactive approach to learning electrical products, Eclipse software, and cross-selling while maintaining professional representation of the company at all times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of electrical industry experience preferred.
• Proficiency in computer usage; Eclipse familiarity is a plus.
• Bilingual (Spanish) proficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist walk-in and call-in customers with part identification, product selection, and order processing.
• Provide accurate quotes and follow through to close — no dropped handoffs.
• Build strong customer relationships that bring contractors and facility managers back by name.
• Represent Shepherd professionally in every interaction — appearance, conduct, and communication.
• Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities that serve the customer’s project needs.
