Job summary

Higginbotham Brothers in Texas is seeking a Counter Sales Representative to assist customers and contractors with the sales process. You will take orders over the counter, answer questions, and receive payment for customer orders in a retail setting.

The role requires 1-3 years of building materials sales experience, strong customer service and communication skills, and the ability to read blueprints. HS diploma or GED is required, with flexibility to work Saturdays and evenings as needed.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of building material knowledge and sales experience preferred.

• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Must be able to work Saturday and evening schedules as required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers; answer questions about merchandise, pricing, and promotions.
• Process sales at the register; handle payments by cash, check, credit card, or other methods.
• Provide product recommendations; respond to inquiries about prices, quotations, and deliveries.
• Prepare accurate invoices, work orders and sales tickets; input data into computer system.
• Maintain showroom appearance and stock levels; assist with inventory.
• Attend training/meetings to increase knowledge of products.
• Support refunds or credits with manager approval when necessary.
• Ensure proper handling of packaging, totals, and cash at registers.
