Job summary

Johnstone Supply LLC is seeking a dedicated Counter Sales and Service Associate to join our Bakersfield branch. You’ll be the face of our store, delivering friendly, professional service in person, over the phone, and online while helping customers find the right HVAC/R solutions.

You’ll process sales through the POS system, assist with product selection, manage returns and warranties, and support warehouse tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of customer service or sales experience.
• Strong communication and multitasking skills.
• Team player with a helpful attitude and problem-solving mindset.
• Basic computer and math skills; POS experience is a plus.
• High school diploma or GED required.

What You’ll Do:

• Deliver prompt, friendly, and professional service to customers in person, over the phone, and online.
• Help customers select the right products by understanding their needs and offering expert guidance.
• Process sales transactions accurately using our point-of-sale system.
• Handle customer returns, warranties, and follow-ups with efficiency and care.
• Maintain showroom appearance and ensure seasonal and promotional readiness.
• Recommend additional products and solutions to maximize customer success.
• Learn and grow your product knowledge through training and self-guided learning.
• Support warehouse operations as needed, including shipping, receiving, and stocking.

What We’re Looking For:

• At least 2 years of customer service or sales experience, ideally in HVAC/R or a related industry.
• Strong communication and multitasking skills—you’re great with people and detail-oriented.
• A problem-solver with a helpful attitude and a desire to serve.
• Team player who enjoys collaborating and creating positive customer experiences.
• Basic computer and math skills; experience with point-of-sale systems is a plus.
• High school diploma or GED required.
