Ferguson Enterprises, LLC is seeking a knowledgeable Counter Sales Associate in New Jersey to assist plumbing and HVAC contractor customers at the counter, by phone, and by email.

You will use product expertise to guide purchasing decisions, upsell and cross-sell strategic items, coordinate with Outside Sales, manage special orders, and maintain an accurate, professional counter environment while delivering exceptional service.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of customer service or sales experience.
• Experience in plumbing/HVAC or related industry preferred.
• Strong communication for consultative selling.
• Self-motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers at the counter, on the phone, and via email to understand their needs and recommend solutions.
• Serve as a product expert by continuously learning and applying knowledge of plumbing, HVAC and related products to guide customer decisions.
• Drive sales growth by identifying opportunities to upsell, cross-sell, and promote strategic products and programs.
• Utilize tools and resources to locate parts and provide accurate, timely information.
• Process transactions efficiently while ensuring accuracy and a positive customer experience.
• Collaborate with Outside Sales Associates to support account growth and deliver seamless service.
• Manage special orders and follow up on order status, back-orders, and delivery timelines.
• Maintain a professional, organized counter environment that reflects our commitment to quality and service.
• Assist with inventory management, cycle counts, and stock organization.
• Adhere to all safety regulations, including proper use of PPE.
