Job summary

Keeling Company in Lake Charles, LA is seeking a Sales Counter/Driver Associate to support branch operations, handle customer service in person and by phone, process orders, and support warehouse and local deliveries.

You will work with a small, cross-trained team to ensure flexible operations, contribute to the branch’s success, and uphold high energy and clean, welcoming environments. Full-time, day shift with benefits provided by the company.

Qualifications

• DOT Medical Certification required or ability to obtain.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Forklift certification provided by Keeling Company.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report.
• Proficient with computer for email, invoicing, and inventory management.
• High School degree or equivalent.
• Prior sales, warehousing, and/or delivery experience.
• Pass a required Drug Screen and Background check.
• Customer service and communication skills.
• Bilingual is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and direct customers.
• Customer service for in-person and phone inquiries about products/services.
• Enter orders in the ERP system.
• Pull and prepare inventory orders for pickup or delivery.
• Develop product knowledge through internal training programs.
• Coordinate with the team to provide excellent customer service.
• Assist with merchandising and inventory and maintain a safe work environment.
• Make local deliveries to customers.
• Maintain brand standards: service, cleanliness, energy.
• All other duties as assigned by the branch manager.
• Employees may refuse dangerous or unsafe work.

The Sales Counter/Driver Associate plays a vital, hands‑on role in nearly every aspect of branch operations — including customer service (both in‑person and over the phone), warehouse support, and local deliveries. This position requires a motivated, knowledgeable, and energetic individual who can manage time effectively in a dynamic environment. With each branch staffed by a small, close‑knit team of 3–4 people, all associates are cross‑trained to ensure flexibility and shared responsibility. Every team member contributes directly to the branch’s overall success.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Greet and direct customers
• Customer service support for both In‑person and over the phone. Must be able to answer customer questions about specific products/services (e.g., product features, pricing, and after‑sales services)
• Entering orders in the ERP system
• Pull and prepare inventory orders for customer pick‑up or delivery
• Develop and stay up‑to‑date on product knowledge through involvement in Company and vendor‑sponsored training programs
• Coordinate with the team to provide excellent customer service (especially during our busy season)
• Assist with merchandising products, managing inventory, and other store tasks while maintaining a safe working environment
• Make local deliveries to the customer
• Ensure that the store and all its properties are upholding the expectations of the Keeling Company brand: exceeding customer service expectations, cleanliness, atmosphere, and high energy.
• All other duties are assigned by the branch manager or the Keeling Company leadership team.
