Job summary

Keeling Company is seeking a Sales Counter/Driver Associate in Madison, AL. The role blends customer service, warehouse support, and local deliveries within a small, cross-trained team. The successful candidate will lift up to 75 lbs, maintain product knowledge, and uphold the company’s commitments to service and safety.

Full-time hours, day shift, and a culture focused on teamwork, respect, and growth. DOT certification may be required; training provided for forklift operation.

Qualifications

• Must have/obtain DOT Medical Certification.
• Lift up to 75 lbs from the floor.
• Forklift certification provided by Keeling Company.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record.
• Proficiency with computer for email, invoicing, and inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Greet and direct customers in-person or by phone.
• Provide customer service and answer questions about products/services.
• Enter orders in the ERP system.
• Pull and prepare inventory orders for pickup or delivery.
• Develop and stay up-to-date on product knowledge through training.
• Coordinate with the team to deliver excellent customer service.
• Assist with merchandising, inventory management, and store tasks.
• Make local deliveries to customers.
• Maintain store standards, cleanliness, and energy; uphold Keeling Company brand.
• Perform other duties as assigned by branch manager or leadership team.

The Sales Counter/Driver Associate plays a vital, hands-on role in nearly every aspect of branch operations — including customer service (both in-person and over the phone), warehouse support, and local deliveries. This position requires a motivated, knowledgeable, and energetic individual who can manage time effectively in a dynamic environment. With each branch staffed by a small, close-knit team of 3–4 people, all associates are cross-trained to ensure flexibility and shared responsibility. Every team member contributes directly to the branch’s overall success.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Greet and direct customers
• Customer service support for both In-person and over the phone. Must be able to answer customer questions about specific products/services (e.g., product features, pricing, and after-sales services)
• Entering orders in the ERP system
• Pull and prepare inventory orders for customer pick-up or delivery
• Develop and stay up-to-date on product knowledge through involvement in Company and vendor-sponsored training programs
• Coordinate with the team to provide excellent customer service (especially during our busy season)
• Assist with merchandising products, managing inventory, and other store tasks while maintaining a safe working environment
• Make local deliveries to the customer
• Ensure that the store and all its properties are upholding the expectations of the Keeling Company brand: exceeding customer service expectations, cleanliness, atmosphere, and high energy.
• All other duties are assigned by the branch manager or the Keeling Company leadership team.
• Employees of Keeling Company have the right to refuse dangerous or unsafe work.

This position is compliant with all DOT regulations for non-CDL operators.
