Job summary

Watsco is seeking a Counter Sales Driver in Escondido, CA to support our HVAC distribution team. You will manage the sales counter, load and unload freight, and deliver materials while delivering outstanding customer service and accurate order processing.

Qualified candidates have at least 1 year in counter sales, a clean driving record with 16' box or stake bed truck experience, pass a DOT physical, and strong sales and communication skills. Training provided; pay range $24-$28 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ year experience in a Counter Sales role, HVAC industry preferred.
• 24 months of verifiable experience driving a 16' box truck or stake bed.
• Clean driving record with no major violations in the past year.
• Must pass DOT physical examination requirements.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Proven success in sales and providing excellent customer service.
• Strong interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interact with internal and outside sales people, vendors and contractors.
• Responsible for showroom merchandising and restocking product.
• Assist in resolving customer relations problems with dealers and end users.
• Complete sales order process for customers with up-sell of related items.
• Load and unload products for delivery in the assigned region.
• Collect invoices with proper signatures and return to Sales Center Manager.
• Assist in the Warehouse with inventory counts, picking, verifying orders and warehouse duties.
• Maintain daily truck maintenance checklist and log in/out times with merchandise returns.
• Adhere to all safety requirements, including wearing PPE.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ year experience in a Counter Sales role, preferably in the HVAC industry.
• 24 months of verifiable experience driving a 16' minimum box truck, or stake bed truck.
• Possess a clean driving record:
• No more than one moving violation in any one year period.
• No more than one preventable accident in any two year period.
• No restrictions, suspensions or DUI convictions in the past 3 years.
• Ability to pass DOT physical examination requirements.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Proven success in sales and providing excellent customer service.
• Strong interpersonal skills including sales, problem solving and customer service.
• Ability to work independently and meet assigned goals and objectives in designated time frames.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment.
• A willingness to learn and grow with our Company.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Proven commitment to customer service and a safe work environment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of air conditioning, heating and ventilation equipment at a wholesale distribution level.
• Experience in a wholesale HVAC equipment supply house preferred.

Pay Range: $24-28/hr.
