Northeastern Supply, Inc. in Lorton, VA is seeking a Counter Sales Associate to drive sales and customer satisfaction by assisting walk-in and phone customers with product selection and order fulfillment.

The role leverages product knowledge to solve customer needs and build lasting relationships. This full-time branch position requires delivering friendly service, processing orders, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting a clean, organized counter and display area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Product, applications, or wholesale distribution experience preferred.
• Physical ability: lift up to 75 lbs, stand up to 8 hours daily; stoop, bend, reach inventory.

Responsibilities

• Pull, fill, pack, and set up orders for delivery or pickup; track order status at all times.
• Receive shipments, log into inventory, conduct audits, and process returns accurately.
• Assist counter and phone customers with orders, product info, pricing, and availability.
• Greet all customers professionally; resolve issues promptly or elevate as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized counter and product display area.
• Upsell complementary products and convert requests to stocked brands where appropriate.
• Maintain deep product and industry knowledge; follow company pricing and credit guidelines.
• Assess customer needs to determine appropriate service level or escalation path.
• Build customer relationships; adapt approach to different customer types and needs.
• Collaborate with team, share best practices, and support a positive work environment.
• Follow all company procedures, policies, and Employee Handbook requirements.
• Other duties as assigned

Core Responsibilities

Order Fulfillment & Inventory

• Pull, fill, pack, and set up orders for delivery or pickup; track order status at all times
