Job summary

Genuine Parts Company is seeking a Traction counter sales associate to greet customers, provide technical advice, and promote current promotions in our heavy-duty parts environment. You will handle cash register operations, assist customers with questions, and support both in-store and field sales efforts.

Ideal candidates will have prior experience with heavy-duty parts, excellent communication skills, and a proactive, friendly attitude suitable for a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Heavy Duty parts knowledge preferred.
• Exceptional customer service and written/verbal communication.
• Positive attitude and strong personal drive.
• Willingness to learn in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Weekend availability required.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers in-person or by phone.
• Operate cash register and manage daily paperwork.
• Explain features, benefits, and warranty policies to customers.
• Promote current sales promotions.
• Maintain professional conduct and appearance at all times.
• Provide technical product advice and troubleshoot customer issues.

Primarily greet and assist customers, provide technical advice, promote the current sales promotion.

Responsibilities

• Assisting customers with their parts questions and needs (either in-person or via telephone)
• Operating a cash register, computer and paper cataloging systems and processing daily paperwork and forms
• Effectively communicating features, benefits, and warranty policy information to customers
• Effectively communicate current sales promotions
• Demonstrate a positive, helpful attitude as well as presenting professional conduct and appearance at all times
• Demonstrate knowledge of products and their applications ( give technical advice, troubleshoot, and help solve customers’ problems
• Provide sales support, process customer stock orders
• Assist outside salesperson, as needed
• Perform all other associated tasks assigned by management

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Prior Heavy Duty parts background or knowledge is preferred
• Exceptional customer service and communications skills (both written and verbal)
• A positive attitude and great personal drive
• A willingness and ability to learn in a fast-paced retail sales environment
• Availability to work on weekends
• Valid driver’s license
