Job summary

Rivers Casino Des Plaines is seeking staff for count-room duties involved in currency handling and daily cash processing. The role requires attention to accuracy and reliable teamwork. Weekly shifts may include early mornings and holidays, with full onsite duties in Des Plaines, IL.

Responsibilities include counting currency, assisting with carts, and completing related paperwork. Prior money handling experience and the ability to pass licensing are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1–2 years of money handling experience.
• Aptitude to count large sums of currency.
• Ability to perform computer input and operate a ten-key adding machine.
• Clear communication with team members and guests.
• Must pass the pre-employment process.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including holidays.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required licensing.

Responsibilities

• Count currency or ticket vouchers from slot machines moved to count room.
• Assist in pushing/pulling loaded carts into count rooms.
• Lift currency from carts and sort/insert into counting equipment.
• Wrap money and verify totals; complete required accounting paperwork.
• Follow policies and procedures for asset handling; inform Count Rooms Manager of activities/irregularities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Day Shift starting time between 4:30 AM - 5:00 AM

Essential Job Functions:

• Counts currency or ticket vouchers from slot machines which has been transported to the count room.
• Assists in pushing/pulling loaded carts into the count rooms.
• Lifts currency from cart, sorts and inserts currency into counting equipment.
• Wraps money and verifies totals.
• Completes required accounting paperwork.
• Follows strict policies and procedures related to the handling of assets.
• Keeps Count Rooms Manager informed of all pertinent information regarding count room activities and irregularities.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• One (1) to two (2) years money handling experience required.
• Aptitude and ability to count large sums currency.
• Must be able to perform computer input and operate ten-key adding machine.
• Ability to communicate with Team members and guests
• Ability to successfully fulfill the pre-employment process
• Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays
• Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing

• Frequent walking, standing, kneeling, twisting, bending and lifting
