Job summary

The Mint Gaming Hall Cumberland is hiring for a Money Room Team Member. This role involves cash handling, counting cash and transfers to the safe, and maintaining a high level of guest service in a fast-paced environment.

You will support the Count Team Supervisor, assist with floor duties, and ensure procedures are followed for accuracy and security while upholding appearance standards and training new team members.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience in high volume, fast-paced Money Room environment preferred.
• Must pass all required pre-screening and background checks.
• Internal candidates must meet the Transfer and Promotion policy.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts including days, swing, late-night, weekends and holidays.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.

Responsibilities

• Communicate operational information with the Count Team Supervisor and other staff.
• Assist in floor duties and know the Money Room equipment operations.
• Collect, count, and transfer cash to the safe area efficiently and accurately.
• Keep the Money Room clean and organized before leaving.
• Handle all keys issued during duty and report equipment issues.
• Provide BIG Service to internal guests, greet and interact with guests professionally.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with managers, staff, guests, and vendors.
• Maintain appearance standards and assist with training new Team Members.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Consistently communicates operational information with the Count Team Supervisor, other departmental staff, other supervisors, and managers.
• Assists in floor duties when needed and has a thorough knowledge of Money Room equipment operations.
• Completes the collection and count efficiently and accurately.
• Assists with transferring money to the safe area.
• Ensures the Money Room is clean before leaving.
• Handles all trolleys and equipment used during the collection and counting process with care.
• Ensures all cash drop boxes and voucher cassettes are collected and counted according to the correct operational procedures.
• Responsible and accountable for all keys issued while on duty.
• Reports any equipment malfunctions for further maintenance.
• Provides BIG Service to internal guests and ensures their complete satisfaction, inclusive of greeting and interacting with guests in a friendly and enthusiastic manner, anticipating and meeting guest needs and preferences, remaining calm and professional when dealing with guests that are difficult or upset.
• Develops and maintains professional, trusting, and positive working relationships with managers, supervisors, staff, coworkers, guests, and vendors.
• Maintains professionalism and a friendly and approachable demeanor throughout the workday.
• Assists with training/mentoring of new Team Members as requested.
• Maintains all appearance standards in accordance with established uniform and appearance guidelines.
• Informs manager on duty of any irregularities and unusual situations when they occur.
• Keeps a friendly, calm, and helpful demeanor in high-stress situations and a continuously fast-paced environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Must be 21 years of age or older with a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Previous experience working in high volume, fast‑paced Money Room environment preferred.
• Must pass all required pre‑screening and background checks.
• Internal candidates must meet the eligibility requirements as provided in the Transfer and Promotion policy.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts, this includes day, swing, late‑night, weekend, and holiday shifts as scheduled.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.
