Job summary

Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel in Tama, IA is seeking a Count and Technician Manager to supervise the Soft Count/Drop Team, oversee equipment maintenance, and ensure accuracy of casino assets and reports.

This full-time role requires an Associate's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field, plus supervisory experience and familiarity with Title 31 and MICS. You will train staff, enforce policies, and coordinate with management to safeguard assets.

  • Requires Associates degree in Accounting/Finance or relevant field with one year casino count team experience, or three years casino count team experience.
  • Must be mechanically inclined with experience in software/hardware maintenance.
  • Must have knowledge of Title 31 requirements and MICS.
  • Must be able to obtain a gaming license per Sac & Fox Gaming Commission requirements.

Job Summary

Manages Soft Count/Drop Team activity and the maintenance of count & dispense equipment. Responsible with overseeing compliance with and implementation of established policies and procedures, and accuracy and accountability of Casino assets and reports.

  • Safeguard and account for the assets of the owners.
  • Responsible for monitoring and suggesting when equipment needs replaced.
  • Maintains confidentiality on all internal departmental matters, correspondence, and proprietary data.
  • Develops, documents, and implements procedures and controls over the SoftCount/Drop Team’s functions.
  • Ensures Department personnel comply with policies and procedures required by the department, the company, the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission, and the National Indian Gaming Commission.
  • Ensures that staff is properly trained in existing and new procedures.
  • Monitor and address mutual respect and interaction between co-workers.
  • Communicates and networks effectively with management, staff, other departments,and outside representatives in order to maintain a productive and effective department operation.
  • Maintain and verify proper functioning of count and dispense equipment including those used in Soft Count, the Cage and kiosks and their related components and support systems.
  • Maintain and track inventory of replacement parts for equipment used.
  • Knowledge of schematic drawings and application of warranty provisions if applicable.
  • Knowledge of functionality and proper use of all diagnostic and test equipment.
  • Monitor the casino environment and follow established safety procedures to provide for the safety of guests and co-workers.
  • Work respectfully and effectively as part of the company team to ensure guest satisfaction, asset protection, and co-worker respect.
Supplemental Job Duties
  • Familiarizes self with casino minimum internal control standards in order to obtain full knowledge and understanding of these procedures.
  • Attends all required meetings and training sessions.
  • This position has signatory authority for machine access keys, drop access keys, and short pay authorizations.
  • Report to work on time and as required in professional attire, display a high level of personal cleanliness, and follow personal appearance standards.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will have the authority to; make decisions necessary for carrying out the above listed job duties, hire, terminate, promote, demote, transfer, provide training opportunities, recommend merit increases, evaluate performance, create and adjust performance standards, create and/or delegate staff scheduling and invoke disciplinary action. This position may have other supervisory authority assigned as necessary through management. This position has the authority, through proper channels, to procure supplies and or equipment needed for the operation of the department. This position directly supervises the Soft Count Supervisor and Finance Technician.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

May be exposed to loud and continual noise levels and a smoke filled environment. Some lifting up to 150 pounds may be required. Requires considerable standing and walking along with use of hands, wrists, arms, fingers, as well as bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching. Exposure to electric current and moving mechanical parts is present.

Minimum Job Qualifications

Knowledge/Education/Work Experiences: Requires Associates degree in Accounting/Finance or relevant field of study with one (1) year of casino count team experience, or three (3) years of casino count team experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires two (2) years of supervisory experience. Must be mechanically inclined with experience in software/hardware maintenance with attention to detail. Must have knowledge of Title 31 requirements and the Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS). Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission.

Skills/Abilities: Must be able to meet deadlines and work independently without supervision. Must be able to read, interpret and understand the Meskwaki Casino Internal Controls and standard operating procedures. Must be flexible with working hours and days off. Must possess good communication skills, both verbal and written; effectively instruct and guide all subordinates. Must have the ability to openly and objectively evaluate and apply current operating procedures and policies. Must possess good computer skills. Must be able to meet all internal supervisory or higher, training and education requirements.

Restrictions

This position is PROHIBITED from playing all casino games while on duty, except as authorized for employee tournaments. Otherwise, this position may play any casino game while off duty. Employees and members of the household are prohibited from entering company contests and giveaways established for our guests.
