Job summary

Family Guidance Centers, Inc. in Chicago, IL is hiring an Entry Level Counselor to provide individual and group counseling for substance use disorders.

The role emphasizes evidence-based treatment, psychosocial assessments, and care coordination within a full spectrum of services, including medication-assisted treatment options. The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, and CADC certification or the ability to obtain it within a set timeframe, with a schedule Monday–Friday and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• CADC certification required or able to obtain within allotted time of hire.
• Experience in/with substance use, detox programs, medication-assisted treatment, behavioral healthcare and/or community relations encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Develop patient treatment plans and conducts continued stay review based on research, clinical experience, and patients’ histories - using computer assessments.
• Provide patient intakes (biopsychosocial assessment),treatment planning, case coordination, staffing, aftercare planningand discharge with individual and group therapy for a full spectrum ofreferral sources.
• Provide direct clinical service to a full caseload,achieving a minimum of 20 billable hours weekly.
• Counsel patients individually, or in group sessions, toassist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, or making changes.
• Maintain at least 51% of work time in face-to-facecounseling, contacts.
• Review and evaluate patients’ progress in relation tomeasurable goals described in treatment and care plans.

Family Guidance Centers, Inc. is a substance use treatmentorganization offering comprehensive behavioral health programs,including medication-assisted recovery, to individuals with substanceuse disorders (SUDs) and co-occurring mental health conditions. Withover 25 years of experience and multiple locations across the state,we provide a full continuum of care for substance use disorder, fromprevention and harm reduction to treatment and recovery support. Ourprograms integrate FDA-approved medications for the treatment ofsubstance use disorders, including all three medications approved totreat opioid use disorder (buprenorphine, methadone, and naltrexone).We strive to meet our patients where they are, bringing care outsideclinic walls via telehealth and mobile services and ensuring patientshave access to harm reduction resources and education.

Schedule: Monday - Friday (6:15a - 2:45p); with rotating Saturdays

Start Date: ASAP

Work Location: 2630 S. WabashAve., Chicago, IL

Pay Rate:: $43,000 – $ 55,000 per year; based oncertification and experience
