Job summary

Pathways, Inc. in Bath, NY is seeking a Counselor to provide supervision and therapeutic care for youth in our OMH residences. The role emphasizes safety, empathy, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to support vulnerable youth.

Requirements include a high school diploma and experience with children/adolescents with serious emotional disturbances; an associates degree is preferred. A valid drivers' license and regulatory clearances are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement is a high school diploma and experience with children and/or adolescents with serious emotional disturbances.
• An Associates degree is preferred.
• Must meet regulatory background checks for child safety and criminal history.
• Must have a valid driver’s license to operate agency vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and supportive environment for residents in OMH residences.

Nature of Work:

This position is responsible for assuring that program youth are adequately supervised and cared for in a safe and therapeutic manner.

• Minimum requirement is a high school diploma and experience with children and/or adolescents with serious emotional disturbances. An Associates degree is preferred.
• Must meet the requirements of the School Age Care, Day Care, and/or Mental Health Regulations regarding a State Central Register Clearance regarding history of abuse/maltreatment of children and Criminal History Review for criminal convictions.
• Requires a valid drivers' license that meets insurability guidelines to operate agency owned vehicles.
