Job summary

Relativity is seeking an experienced Counsel, Commercial Transactions to support the company’s contracting function. The role drafts, reviews, negotiates software, SaaS, cloud services, and AI-driven agreements while coordinating with Sales, Security, Finance, and Compliance to move business forward.

The ideal candidate has 4–6 years of tech-transaction experience, JD from an accredited school, active US bar, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in good standing.
• Experience negotiating SaaS, software, cloud services, professional services, data processing, and enterprise commercial agreements.
• Experience supporting technology transactions in-house or at a law firm.
• Understanding of software licensing models, information security, privacy and regulatory considerations.
• Experience with AI-enabled products and emerging technology issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer, procurement, strategic commercial negotiations, and technology-related legal work (software, SaaS, cloud, AI, partnerships).
• Provide legal advice and business counsel on commercial and operational issues; manage a high volume of contracts.
• Engage with customers to ensure they feel heard and deliver outcomes.
• Suggest process improvements and standard forms to improve efficiency.
• Work with AI legal tech tools and be flexible in trying new tools.
• Support pricing initiatives and governance projects with Finance and other stakeholders.
• Prioritize contracts in internal workflow and respond to questions from stakeholders and clients.
• Proficient with AI tools, legal tech tools, MS Office, Salesforce, Ironclad.
