e&e is seeking a COTS/PeopleSoft Developer for a hybrid contract opportunity in Harrisburg, PA!
The COTS/PeopleSoft Developer is responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) applications with a primary focus on the PeopleSoft ecosystem. This role develops and maintains solutions that meet business and technical requirements while supporting the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including analysis, development, testing, implementation, and production support. The developer collaborates with business analysts, architects, and technical teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure application solutions while ensuring adherence to coding standards, version control, and quality assurance processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain PeopleSoft applications, including Financials, HR/Payroll, PeopleTools, Workflow, Security, and PeopleSoft Internet Architecture.
- Support Human Resource Management System (HRMS) modules, including recruiting, employee records, position management, benefits administration, leave accrual, time tracking, payroll, tax processing, and W-2 reporting.
- Develop and support PeopleSoft Financials modules, including eProcurement, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Asset Management, Budgeting, and General Ledger.
- Perform application maintenance, upgrades, patches, customizations, and enhancements for PeopleSoft and other commercial off-the-shelf applications.
- Develop software solutions using technologies such as C#, VB.NET, Visual Basic, XML/XSLT, Crystal Reports, nVision, XML Publisher, and MVC frameworks.
- Build application components from technical specifications provided by business analysts and solution architects.
- Create, execute, and document unit tests and functional testing to ensure application quality and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, performance issues, and production incidents.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design sessions, and quality assurance activities to identify and resolve defects early in the development lifecycle.
- Maintain source code repositories using version control tools such as Subversion and follow established coding standards and development best practices.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for application changes, enhancements, and support activities.
- Assist with proof-of-concept development, prototypes, and technical solution evaluations.
- Support software deployments, upgrades, patches, and production releases.
- Participate in risk identification, mitigation planning, and change management activities.
- Provide production support, incident resolution, and participate in an on-call support rotation as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the SDLC to deliver scalable and secure enterprise solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience developing and supporting PeopleSoft applications, including Financials and HR/Payroll modules.
- Strong knowledge of PeopleTools, PeopleSoft Workflow, Security, and PeopleSoft Internet Architecture.
- Experience with HRMS business processes, including payroll, benefits, recruiting, position management, and employee lifecycle management.
- Experience supporting PeopleSoft Financials modules such as eProcurement, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Asset Management, Budgeting, and General Ledger.
- Proficiency with C#, VB.NET, Visual Basic, XML/XSLT, Crystal Reports, nVision, XML Publisher, and Microsoft Visual Studio.
- Experience developing web-based applications using MVC frameworks and modern web technologies.
- Knowledge of relational databases, including DB2 and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, and enterprise application integration.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, object-oriented programming principles, UML, and software design best practices.
- Experience using source code management tools such as Subversion or similar version control platforms.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
- Ability to develop technical documentation, perform testing, and support application implementations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to support production systems, respond to incidents, and participate in on-call support as required.
