Job summary

DMI, LLC seeks a Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) System Engineer to operate, maintain, and enhance enterprise applications across on‑prem, virtualized, and cloud environments, ensuring reliability, security, and performance.

You will coordinate OS, database, and app upgrades, monitor systems, manage service delivery, perform RCAs, and document changes with ServiceNow tickets, while collaborating with software engineers and operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of IT experience supporting enterprise systems.
  • At least 5 years of experience in production or industrial engineering environments.
  • In depth knowledge of troubleshooting and configuring Windows operating systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Linux OS, databases, networks, certificates, and system integration.
  • Ability to independently research issues, troubleshoot complex problems, and develop technical solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with vendors, clients, and technical teams.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS).
  • Experience developing or executing scripts, batch jobs, or automation tasks.
  • Experience planning, organizing, or leading team activities to achieve operational objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily maintenance of enterprise business applications across Windows and RHEL environments (virtualized and AWS-hosted).
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute operating system, database, and application upgrades in collaboration with multiple IT functional groups.
  • Monitor IT systems using enterprise tools to ensure availability, performance, and adherence to operational standards.
  • Manage and coordinate IT service delivery to ensure timely and effective support for mission needs.
  • Troubleshoot complex application issues, conduct root‑cause analyses (RCAs), and implement corrective actions.
  • Document system changes using approved mechanisms such as Change Requests, ServiceNow PRB tickets, and internal tracking tools.
  • Review vulnerability and security scan results, validate system integrity, and mitigate findings in accordance with approved security practices.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, technical standards, and service‑level requirements.
  • Follow SEC‑approved operational processes for ticket management, reporting, and service‑level performance.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, technical specialists, and operations personnel to support system performance and mission readiness.
  • Provide knowledge‑sharing and cross‑training to other IT staff to enhance team capability and resiliency.

About the Opportunity

  • This is a fully remote position; candidates must maintain a suitable telework environment.

Clearance Requirements: Must possess or be eligible to obtain and complete a government security screening and obtain a Public Trust security clearance.

Citizenship Status Required: Must be a U.S. Citizen (cannot have dual citizenship)
