Job summary

PACS is seeking a Staff Occupational Therapist Assistant to assist the Staff Occupational Therapist with resident-related activities and direct resident care in a post-acute setting.

The role emphasizes accurate documentation, infection control, interdepartmental communication, and ongoing training of staff, with responsibilities spanning treatment, education, and equipment recommendations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited COTA program is required.
• Proficient in inputting data into Net Health and Point Click Care.
• Licensed as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in the state; continuing education requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Treat residents as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation per facility and payer requirements.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment by following infection control, safety, and equipment maintenance protocols.
• Participate in Resident Care conferences and Rehabilitation meetings as needed.
• Assist nursing with training Restorative Aides.
• Communicate with supervising OT to update physicians, nursing staff, and families about progress, goals, and discharge planning.
• Educate residents and caregivers on treatment goals, home exercise programs, and fall prevention strategies.
• Recommend and facilitate ordering of durable medical equipment to support independence in ADLs.
