Job summary

PACS is seeking a Staff Occupational Therapist Assistant to support the Staff Occupational Therapist in resident care and program implementation. You will assist with treatment, documentation, and safety, while coordinating with the interdisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes patient education, equipment recommendations, and participation in quality improvement initiatives within a post-acute care setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited COTA program.
• Proficient with Net Health and Point Click Care software.

Responsibilities

• Treat residents as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation per facility and payer requirements.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment following infection control and safety protocols.
• Participate in Resident Care conferences and rehabilitation meetings as needed.
• Assist nursing with training Restorative Aides.
• Communicate progress and discharge plans with the OT, team, residents and families.
• Provide in-services on training programs for staff.
• Educate residents and families on goals, home exercise and safety.
• Recommend durable medical equipment to support independence in ADLs.
• Maintain resident and company confidentiality.
• Report equipment issues to keep devices in good working order.
• Contribute to quality assurance and rehab program development.
• Relate positively with residents, families, staff and colleagues.
