Job summary

The Plaza Health and Rehabilitation Center in Gainesville, FL seeks a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our subacute rehabilitation team. This full-time role, with per diem options, supports residents in achieving rehabilitation goals and improving daily functioning.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, assist therapists with treatment plans, engage residents in therapeutic activities, document progress, and educate patients and families on home programs.

Qualifications

• Current COTA certification from an accredited program.
• Active state licensure or eligibility for licensure.
• Experience in rehabilitation or healthcare preferred; new grads welcome.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support Occupational Therapy by helping implement treatment plans.
• Engage residents in therapeutic activities to improve skills.
• Maintain accurate patient progress documentation and outcomes.
• Collaborate with nurses, PTs, and other professionals for holistic care.
• Educate patients and families on exercises and home programs.
• Assist in assessing patients' needs and progress under therapists.
