Job summary

WeCare Centers in Montoursville, PA is seeking a motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. You will work with the OT to develop and implement rehabilitation plans and support residents in daily activities.

You'll educate residents on home exercise programs, document progress in rehab software, and coordinate therapy with the rehabilitation team, contributing to compassionate, quality care.

Qualifications

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in PA state.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Knowledge of principles, methods, and equipment used in occupational therapy.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with OT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Coordinate therapy activities with the rehab team.
• Assist residents with daily activities and home exercise programs.
• Document treatments and outcomes in rehab software accurately.
• Educate patients on using equipment and techniques at home.

Key Responsibilities

• Work in collaboration with the OT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Consult with the rehabilitation team to choose effective activity programs.
• Coordinate occupational therapy with other types of therapeutic activities.
• Follow guidance of OTR/L in selecting therapy activities to fit Residents' needs and capabilities.
• Assist Residents in carrying out daily activities.
• Teach Residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function.
• Report the Resident’s progress to the OTR/L.
• Responsibly and accurately document treatments and outcomes in rehab software.
• Assist in educating patients with home exercise programs and use of equipment.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Certification as Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of PA.
• Knowledge of principles, methods, and equipment used in occupational therapy.
