Job summary

WeCare Centers in Mercer, PA, is seeking a motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team. Under the supervision of an OTR/L, you will implement therapy plans, assist residents with daily activities, and educate on home exercise programs, using equipment to improve function.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of principles, methods, and equipment used in occupational therapy.
• Licensed/Certified as PA COTA.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

Responsibilities

• Work with OT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Consult with rehabilitation team to select effective activity programs.
• Coordinate OT with other therapeutic activities.
• Follow guidance of OTR/L in selecting therapy activities for residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Work in collaboration with the OT to establish a rehabilitation plan.

• Consult with the rehabilitation team to choose effective activity programs.

• Coordinate occupational therapy with other types of therapeutic activities.

• Follow guidance of OTR/L in selecting therapy activities to fit Residents' needs and capabilities.

• Assist Residents in carrying out daily activities.

• Teach Residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function.

• Report the Resident's progress to the OTR/L.

• Responsibly and accurately document treatments and outcomes in rehab software.

• Assist in educating patients with home exercise programs and use of equipment.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

• Certification as Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of PA.

• Knowledge of principles, methods, and equipment used in occupational therapy.
