Job summary

WeCare Centers at Avalon Springs Care Center in Mercer, PA is actively seeking a motivated Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team.

As a COTA, you will work with the OT to develop and implement individual rehabilitation plans, coordinate therapy activities, and help Residents perform daily tasks. We offer competitive pay with growth opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Certification as Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of PA.
• Knowledge of principles, methods, and equipment used in occupational therapy.

Responsibilities

• Work with OT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Consult with the rehab team to select activity programs.
• Coordinate occupational therapy with other therapeutic activities.
• Follow guidance of OTR/L in selecting activities for Residents.
• Assist Residents in daily activities.
• Teach Residents how to use equipment to aid daily function.
• Report progress to the OTR/L.
• Document treatments and outcomes in rehab software.
• Educate patients on home exercise programs and equipment use.

Key Responsibilities

• Work in collaboration with the OT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Consult with the rehabilitation team to choose effective activity programs.
• Coordinate occupational therapy with other types of therapeutic activities.
• Follow guidance of OTR/L in selecting therapy activities to fit Residents' needs and capabilities.
• Assist Residents in carrying out daily activities.
• Teach Residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function.
• Report the Resident’s progress to the OTR/L.
• Responsibly and accurately document treatments and outcomes in rehab software.
• Assist in educating patients with home exercise programs and use of equipment.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
