Job summary

Mercy seeks a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for inpatient care in Crestwood, MO. You will assist with patient assessments, document progress, and administer treatment modalities within policy, spanning neonatal to geriatric care.

Must graduate from an accredited OTA program, hold or be eligible for licensure, and maintain BLS certification. New graduates are welcome and the team emphasizes education and collaboration in a supportive hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited OTA program.
• Current license for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or eligible for licensure.
• One year experience preferred but new graduates will be considered.
• BLS certification required and current before caring for patients independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial patient assessment per direction from O.T.R./L. and in accordance with departmental policies.
• Document the course of patient care including progress notes and continuing need for treatment.
• Administer modalities, exercise regimes, or treatment procedures per departmental policies.
• Maintain progress notes and departmental records on each patient.
• Participate in promoting education within the department.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the needs of age groups from neonatal to geriatric.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by the Inpatient Physical Medicine Supervisor.
