Job summary

Avondale Health and Rehab in Humboldt, TN is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our Therapy Team. This Per Diem/PRN position offers the opportunity to plan, develop, and direct Occupational Therapy Services under supervision to ensure high-quality resident care.

Responsibilities include conducting screenings, implementing treatment plans, documenting findings, coordinating schedules, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
• TN OTA licensure is required.
• Ongoing continuing education and professional development to maintain licensure and certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular screening of residents to determine best intervention.
• Implement treatment plans and follow established goals.
• Interpret and communicate evaluation findings to residents and families.
• Establish therapy schedules with team members.
• Document and bill occupational therapy services per CMS standards.
• Perform other duties to effectively treat patients.
• Comply with CMS documentation standards daily.

Job description

Avondale Health and Rehab is seeking for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our Therapy Team. As a COTA you will be responsible to plan, organize, develop, and direct Occupational Therapy Services in facility in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, and as may be directed by Administrator, to ensure that highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.

Status: Per Diem/PRN

• Conduct regular screening of residents to figure out the best intervention or treatment for each individual patient based off scope of practice
• Perform treatment plan to residents; follow short and long term goals and methods to achieve goals based off of the established plan of care by supervising therapist
• Interpret and communicate evaluation findings, treatment plans, and recommendations to residents, families/caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members
• Establish individual resident therapy schedules in cooperation with other team members
• Conduct therapy according to established treatment plan and ensure proper documentation and billing of occupational therapy services
• Perform all other duties as assigned and as required to effectively treat patients
• Comply with all CMS documentation standards of practice daily with point of care documentations as indicated
