Job summary

Bridgeway Health and Rehab is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our therapy team. The COTA will plan, organize, develop, and direct Occupational Therapy Services in the facility, ensuring high-quality resident care per applicable standards and regulations.

Status: Full-Time or Per Diem/PRN. Responsibilities include screening residents, implementing treatment plans, communicating findings to the team, coordinating schedules, and maintaining compliant documentation

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy required.
• Alabama OTA licensure required (AL OTA).
• Ongoing continuing education to maintain licensure and certification.

Responsibilities

• Screen residents to determine the best intervention strategy.
• Implement treatment plans and follow goals per supervising therapist.
• Interpret and communicate evaluation findings to residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Establish individual resident therapy schedules in cooperation with team members.
• Document and bill occupational therapy services per the established plan of care.
• Perform all other duties as required to effectively treat patients.
• Comply with CMS documentation standards of practice daily with point-of-care documentation.

Job description

Bridgeway Health and Rehab is seeking for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our Therapy Team. As a COTA you will be responsible to plan, organize, develop, and direct Occupational Therapy Services in facility in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, and as may be directed by Administrator, to ensure that highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.

Status: Full-Time or Per Diem/PRN

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular screening of residents to figure out the best intervention or treatment for each individual patient based off scope of practice
• Perform treatment plan to residents; follow short and long term goals and methods to achieve goals based off of the established plan of care by supervising therapist
• Interpret and communicate evaluation findings, treatment plans, and recommendations to residents, families/caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members
• Establish individual resident therapy schedules in cooperation with other team members
• Conduct therapy according to established treatment plan and ensure proper documentation and billing of occupational therapy services
• Perform all other duties as assigned and as required to effectively treat patients
• Comply with all CMS documentation standards of practice daily with point of care documentations as indicated

Education & Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy
• AL OTA licensure
• Ongoing continuing education and professional development to maintain current licensure and certification
