Job summary

Majestic Care of New Haven is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide high-quality rehabilitative care under supervision and to support residents in ADLs, mobility, and independence. This PRN position emphasizes compassionate, resident-centered therapy within a geriatric setting.

The COTA will work with an interdisciplinary team, document progress, and help implement treatment plans with accuracy and HIPAA compliance, contributing to optimal resident outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
• 1-2 years of experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric care setting preferred.
• Familiarity with PDPM and SNF documentation standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver occupational therapy interventions as outlined in the treatment plan developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Assist residents with therapeutic exercises and functional activities to improve independence in ADLs and mobility.
• Monitor resident responses and communicate progress or changes to the OT.
• Support use of adaptive equipment and provide instruction to residents and caregivers.
• Maintain a safe, engaging therapeutic environment that encourages resident participation.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure coordinated, resident-centered care.
