Job summary

Palmetto Subacute Care Center is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide patient care under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist in a long-term care setting in Florida. The role emphasizes adherence to treatment goals, accurate documentation, and collaboration with the care team.

The ideal candidate will hold a valid COTA license, have experience in geriatric and long-term care environments if possible, and demonstrate strong patient service and professional

Qualifications

• Must have a valid professional license and registration for state of practice.
• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under supervision of Occupational Therapist
• Experience with long-term care and/or geriatric care is preferred but not limited to.
• Well versed with documentation writing
• Document patient’s progress on weekly progress note in a timely fashion.
• Collaborates with all disciplines to provide best patient centered treatment and care.
• Exceptional patient service skills and ability to demonstrate clinical excellence
• Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
• Perform all other duties assigned by Director of Rehabilitation

Responsibilities

• Carry out best practice treatments under supervision of the OT.
• Provide treatment per goals developed by the OT.
• Provide feedback to the supervising OT via documentation or other facility-mandated methods.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure best patient-centered care.
• Maintain timely weekly progress notes and patient records.
• Demonstrate professionalism and punctuality in all shifts.
• Perform duties assigned by the Director of Rehabilitation.
