Mercy in Mehlville, MO is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join the Inpatient Physical Medicine team. You will assist with patient assessments and document care progression in line with department policies, supporting rehabilitation plans and goals.

The role requires graduation from an accredited OTA program, a current license or eligibility for licensure, BLS certification, and preferred one year of experience.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited OTA program.
• Current license as OTA or eligible for licensure in the state of practice.
• BLS certification required and current.
• One year experience preferred; new graduates considered.

Responsabilités

• Assist with initial patient assessment under direction from OT/R/L and department policies.
• Document the course of patient care including progress notes and ongoing treatment needs.
• Administer modalities, exercise regimes, or treatment procedures per departmental policies.
• Maintain progress notes and departmental records for each patient.
• Promote education within the department.
• Demonstrates knowledge of age-specific needs from neonatal to geriatric.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by the Inpatient Physical Medicine Supervisor.

• Document the course of patient care including progress notes and the continuing need for treatment according to departmental policy.
• Administer appropriate modalities, exercise regimes, or treatment procedures according to departmental policies and procedures on standards of treatment care.
• Maintain progress notes and departmental records on each patient according to departmental policies regarding documentation and charges.
• Participate in promoting education within the department
• Demonstrates knowledge of special needs and behaviors of specific age groups to include neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
• Perform miscellaneous job duties observed as directed by the Inpatient PhysicalMedicine Supervisor.

Position Details:

Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited Occupation Therapist Assistant program.
Licensure: Current license for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or eligible for licensure in state of practice.
Experience: One year experience is preferred but will consider new graduates.
Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.
