Job summary

UMass Memorial Health seeks a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to implement established treatment programs across multiple settings, under supervision of an Occupational Therapist. You will supervise students and support staff while delivering group and individual therapies to maximize patient function.

The role requires an A OT degree, MA license, and COTA exam success, with potential for a signing bonus and collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Occupational Therapy from accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant school.
• Current license to practice Occupational Therapy in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Successful completion of Board Examination of COTA.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience if licensure etc. is not required.

Responsibilities

• Provides group and individual treatment to restore and/or maximize physical, psychosocial, cognitive, and daily living skills for disabled patient populations.
• Educates patients in compensatory strategies and life management skills to promote wellness.
• Educates patients, family and other caregivers in therapy programs and goals.
• Participates in patient care meetings, collaborates with team members, assists with discharge planning.
• Assesses effect of treatment rendered and communicates recommendations for program changes.

Education

Associates degree in Occupational Therapy from accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant school

Current license to practice Occupational Therapy in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

Successful completion of Board Examination of COTA
