Job summary

Watsonville Nursing Center is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support an Occupational Therapist in developing and implementing personalized treatment plans. You will administer exercises, monitor progress, and educate residents and families on home programs while maintaining a safe therapy environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current state licensure or certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
• Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility or similar healthcare setting is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Occupational Therapist in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for residents.
• Administer therapeutic activities and exercises as prescribed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Monitor and document residents' progress and report any changes or concerns to the Occupational Therapist.
• Educate residents and their families on home exercise programs and adaptive techniques.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe therapy environment.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and facility policies.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care to residents.
