Elderwood Administrative Services is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team and contribute to high-quality patient care. The role requires state certification and a commitment to community-focused health services.

The COTA collaborates with the Occupational Therapy team to implement treatment plans, document progress, and support group activities for residents. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, teamwork, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

  • State certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is required.
  • Ability to relate well to individuals and work within the community.
  • Tact and diplomacy; ability to develop good relationships with individuals, staff and students.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate others and create a warm and accepting climate.
  • Strong communication skills in verbal and written form.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Occupational Therapy in planning, developing and carrying out treatment programs and procedures.
  • Help create group therapy programs and prepare projects for varied residents.
  • Writes observations of individuals' behavior and progress in Progress Notes.
  • Maintains attendance records and other departmental reports; enters treatment records.
  • Assist Director OT in training and supervising OT Aides and students.
  • Attend Care Planning and Family Care Plan review meetings.
  • Assist with in-service programs and department training.
  • Complete MDS+ assessment forms as required.
  • Inventory supplies and keep the area organized and sanitized.
  • Participate in trainings and departmental meetings, seeking improvements in care quality.
