Job summary

Independence Rehab is seeking a Full-Time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our therapy team at Independence Rehab in a skilled nursing setting. The role emphasizes geriatric care, rehabilitation, and collaborative care with the therapy team to help residents regain function and independence.

The successful candidate will hold a current OTA license, have an associate degree, be organized and patient-focused, with a passion for geriatrics.

• Current OTA license in good standing.
• Associate degree from an accredited OTA program.
• Organized, self-motivated, and patient-focused.
• Passion for working with the geriatric population.
• One year SNF experience preferred; newer clinicians with geriatrics interest encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Treat a diverse geriatric caseload in a SNF setting.
• Assist with transfers and ADL retraining.
• Collaborate with evaluating OT and interdisciplinary care team.
• Provide competency training and support professional growth.

About the Role

As a COTA in a skilled nursing setting, you'll work collaboratively with the therapy team to support residents through rehabilitation, recovery, and long-term care-helping them achieve meaningful progress and improved quality of life.

SNF Practice Highlights

• Treat a diverse caseload, including occasional clinically complex patients
• Perform and assist with all types of transfers
• Provide adaptive ADL retraining and functional task practice
• Collaborate closely with the evaluating OT and interdisciplinary care team
• Competency training is available-we're happy to support your growth in any of these areas
