Job summary

IMA Life North America, part of the IMA Group, is seeking a Cost Estimator to prepare cost estimates and quotes for freeze dryers, collaborating with international colleagues and maintaining cost data. The role requires an engineering background with 1–2 years of experience or 5+ years’ practical experience, plus strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent with 1–2 years of experience, or 5+ years of practical experience.
• Analytical approach to daily tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and reporting style.
• Practical commercial knowledge.
• Experience in dynamic environments with tight time/budget constraints.
• Knowledge of spreadsheets and databases (ITM, CRM, Microsoft Office).

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates and quotes for freeze dryers following required procedures and approvals.
• Collaborate with international colleagues on multi-equipment machines and estimates.
• Supervise collection of hours/material costs from supporting departments.
• Review Customer User Requirement Technical Specifications and generate deviation lists.
• Maintain cost estimating database.
• Provide technical support to Sales and project teams, including attendance at customer meetings.
• Provide engineering information for proposals (GA drawings, P&ID's, building layout, utility list).
• Observe SHEQ site requirements for self, department, contractors, visitors.
• Project manager for projects < $5 Million as required.

The Role

The Cost Estimator Will Be Responsible For The Following

• Prepares cost estimates and quotes for freeze dryers following required procedures and approval processes
• Collaborate with international colleagues on multi-equipment machines and estimates
• Supervise the collection of hours/material cost from supporting departments
• Review customers User Requirement Technical Specifications and generate deviation list to these documents.
• Maintain cost estimating database
• Provide technical support to the Sales department and project teams, including attendance at customer meetings
• Provided complete and accurate documentation packages to hand orders from Sales Support to Operations for freeze dryers.
• Provide marketing tools to support the sales process. (Specifications, photographs, video's, etc).
• Provide engineering supporting information for proposal such as, but not limited to General Arrangement Drawings, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's) building layout, utility list etc.
• Consistently observe and promote SHEQ site requirements for self, department, and all contractors, visitors, and guests.
• Project manager for projects < $5 Million as required

Experience & Skills

• Technical education at an associate degree level or above in an engineering discipline plus 1-2 year of relevant experience required or at least 5 years practical experience required.
• A detailed analytical approach to daily tasks
• Excellent written and verbal communication and reporting style.
• Practical commercial knowledge.
• Experienced working in a dynamic environment under strict time and budget constraints.
• Strong knowledge of spreadsheets and data bases including: ITM (Item Text Management system), CRM, Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)

What Will Set You Apart

• Knowledge of AutoCAD and practical drawing experience.
• Experience with cost estimation for capital equipment
• Experience in the pharmaceutical industry
• Willingness to travel, domestic and international (less than 5%)
• Availability for overtime

Compensation Package

$75,000-85,000
