Job summary

ExxonMobil is seeking a Cost Controls Analyst to establish and optimize cost and project controls across Post-Stim projects. You will guide execution teams, perform budgeting and variance analysis, and develop advanced Excel models for budgeting and KPI measurement.

The role requires strong SQL skills, Power BI/Spotfire capabilities, and excellent communication to support cross‑functional teams. This position is based in Houston with a focus on delivering accurate, data‑driven insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent in a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in cost control/financial analysis/project controls or related analytical role.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, Power Query, data modeling).
• Strong technical skills: SQL querying, Power BI/Spotfire, data analysis, interpretation, and visualization.

Responsibilities

• Establish, implement, and improve cost and project controls systems, tools, and methodologies.
• Conduct detailed cost, financial, and variance analysis to support EP&P and Post-Stim teams.
• Support Post-Stim execution with AFE creation/revisions, cost estimating, planning, contracting, scheduling, and performance tracking.
• Develop advanced Excel models and analytical frameworks for budgeting, forecasting, KPI measurement, and cost reporting.
• Write, maintain, and optimize SQL queries to extract and analyze large datasets from enterprise systems.
• Create automated dashboards and reporting tools using Power BI or Spotfire for real‑time visibility into performance.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual cost and performance reports.
• Analyze KPIs and investigate deviations to identify trends, anomalies, and root causes.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for cost and financial data ensuring accuracy and data integrity across systems.
