Job summary

Arup in Los Angeles is seeking a Cost Advisory Intern to support a range of infrastructure projects across rail, airports, highways, and more. You will assist in cost estimation, scheduling, risk modeling, and value engineering using Excel, @Risk, and Primavera.

We look for students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Economics, Business or Finance with strong quantitative skills, Excel proficiency, and a passion for sustainable infrastructure delivery.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in relevant fields
• Strong quantitative and analytical abilities
• Familiarity with MS Office and Excel

Responsibilities

• Aid in the consultation of stakeholders on infrastructure projects
• Collaborate with design professionals to understand scope and impact of projects
• Request, manage and review relevant project data, studies and plans
• Prepare analyses such as cost estimates, schedules, risk models, and life-cycle cost assessments using Excel, @Risk and Primavera
• Develop high-level and detailed construction cost estimates using benchmarking and unit-rate methods
• Evaluate risks and opportunities with clients and subject matter experts
• Read and analyze design documents and blueprints
• Identify opportunities for design/Construction options and develop solutions
• Conduct outreach with the construction industry to gather pricing and market information
• Monitor market trends to understand impact on project delivery
• Prepare analyses and draw evidence-based conclusions for client needs
