Overview

Responsible for supervising a team of finance analyst and overseeing all aspects of cost accounting functions within the organization. The Cost Accounting Supervisor will ensure accurate cost analysis, financial reporting, and compliance with accounting standards. Overview

Responsible for supervising a team of finance analyst and overseeing all aspects of cost accounting functions within the organization. The Cost Accounting Supervisor will ensure accurate cost analysis, financial reporting, and compliance with accounting standards. This position requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

  • Assists Site Leader on developing annual budgets and monthly forecasts. Participates in the development of company accounting policy mainly for the issues related to purchase costs, inventory, and variable costs.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Operations, Procurement, and Sales, to align cost accounting practices with organizational goals. Provide financial insights and support decision-making on CAPEX and OPEX as well as coordinating the consolidation, reporting, annual planning, monthly forecasting, fixed asset, inventory control, and analysis.
  • Manages MRO / Supplies cage management by managing the min-max of operations supplies (cage with access control) and supply the operation areas.
  • Supervises assigned staff; ensure effective day-to-day operation of assigned staff members.
  • Responsible of consolidating, reporting, and analyzing Loss Cost information and KPIs. The Supervisor Operations Finance will provide timely reporting and recommendations to the Operations team based on the targets.
  • Reviews all monthly journal entries, reconciliations and analysis related to chargebacks and operations expenses.
  • Exercises professional judgment in making recommendations for reporting, revisions in the reporting system or subsidiary records, and changes in instructions regarding the use of accounts and new refined account classifications or definitions.
  • Responsible for the review actuals, business plan and monthly forecast results. Ensures proper accounting transactions with regard to purchase costs, variable costs, and inventory.
  • Guarantees timely and accurate completion of financial reports/statements.
  • Responsible for timely preparation and analysis of forecast and business plan coordinating with other departments as required.
  • Reviews and performs variance analysis on Operational Cost as compared with the Forecast and Business Plan.
  • Reviews and approves account analysis, internal audit packages, and HQ requests with regard to Cost Accounting.
  • Conducts special accounting studies and reports for top management, providing explanations of major variances, especially in terms of marginal profit by business division and business unit.
  • Oversees the monthly closing of material cost and other variable expenses.
  • Evaluates, improves, and maintains site-specific financial controls, ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and other company policies. Supports internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and process insights.

Must-haves

  • BS/BA Degree in Accounting or BS/BA with a concentration in Accounting or Finance.
  • Three (3) years of experience in cost accounting and/or financial analysis, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory management.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis using tools such as Excel, SAP, PowerPoint, and other ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) is a plus.
  • Bilingual (Spanish)
