Job summary

Stefanini Group is hiring a Cost Accounting Manager in Bridgewater, NJ (Hybrid). The role covers month-end closes, forecasting, budgeting, payroll accounting, and close liaison with external auditors.

You will lead the balance sheet close for North America, review variances, and ensure SOX controls and GAAP compliance while collaborating with global teams and internal stakeholders. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage the month end close, forecasting and budgeting processes for assigned areas of the balance sheet.
• Timely and accurate review of actual results for completeness, accuracy and proper accounting treatment and classification.
• Compilation and review of monthly balance sheet deliverables, including explanations of significant variances.
• Review and oversight of quarterly account reconciliations and deliverables to financial reporting and external auditors.
• Challenge forecast and budget assumptions for reasonableness, including amount and timing.
• Provide guidance to analysts and communicate risks and opportunities.
• Oversee North America payroll accounting and interface with ADP as needed.
• Assist Senior Director of Corporate Accounting with special projects and GAAP research.
• Support Shared Services Center establishment and oversight and training for process compliance.

Location

• Hybrid, 4 days onsite, 1 day remote

Description

• Manage the month end close, forecasting and budgeting processes for assigned areas of the balance sheet
  • Timely and accurate review of actual results for completeness, accuracy and proper accounting treatment and classification.
  • Compilation and review of monthly balance sheet deliverables, including identifying and providing explanations of significant variances between actual and forecasted/budgeted balances.
  • Review and oversight of quarterly account reconciliations and deliverables to financial reporting and the external auditors. Will include areas such as payroll and payroll tax accruals, bank reconciliations, employee benefits and other accruals.
  • Challenge forecast and budget assumptions and activity for reasonableness, including amount and timing.
  • Provide guidance to analysts.
  • Timely identification, communication and tracking of risks and opportunities.
• Manage the accounting of various employee benefit and other accruals, including:
  • Coordination with internal and third parties to obtain information to support accruals.
  • Documentation and review of significant assumptions.
  • Review of annual schedules supporting the Company's 10-K.
• Responsible for the Company's North America payroll accounting, including:
  • Timely identification and resolution of interface errors
  • Coordination with ADP, third party payroll processor, as needed
• Assist the Senior Director of Corporate Accounting with special projects and GAAP research on accounting issues.
• Shared Service Center Establishment and Oversight
  • Collaborate with the shared service center to transition and manage transactional responsibilities such as preparing account reconciliations.
  • Provide training and oversight to ensure process compliance and efficiency.
• Leadership & Stakeholder Management
  • Prepare and/or review support for internal and external audit requests.
  • Ensure SOX compliance for account related control
  • Provide information to Tax Department in support of the Company's tax provision, tax returns, and tax audits.

Requirements

• SAP S/4 and SAC experience
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SOX regulations, and global finance operating models.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end accounting processes and working with global teams in various countries
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for process improvement and automation.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word is required.
