Ledgent, Inc. is seeking a Cost Accountant in San Jose, CA (onsite) for a direct hire or temp-to-hire opportunity. The role blends cost accounting, financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, and business partnering to help leaders drive smarter financial decisions.

You will maintain product, labor, and operational costs, perform month-end close, conduct variance analysis, and support inventory valuations while partnering with operations to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 3-7 years of Cost Accounting, Manufacturing Finance, or Financial Analysis experience.
• CPA or CMA designation (or progress toward certification) is a plus.

What You'll Be Doing

Cost Accounting & Reporting

• Maintain and analyze product, labor, and operational costs
• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end cost accounting activities
• Conduct variance analysis and explain key drivers impacting profitability
• Support inventory valuation, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls

Cross-Functional Partnership

• Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and leadership teams
• Help identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements
• Support inventory management and cycle count activities
• Assist with special projects and ad hoc analysis

Systems & Process Improvement

• Enhance reporting processes and improve data accuracy
• Create dashboards and management reports
• Support ERP systems and reporting tools
• Participate in audit preparation and documentation

What We’re Looking For

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3-7 years of Cost Accounting, Manufacturing Finance, or Financial Analysis experience
• CPA or CMA designation (or progress toward certification) is a plus

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of:
• Standard Costing
• Variance Analysis
• Budgeting & Forecasting
• Financial Reporting
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience with ERP systems preferred
• Power BI and data analytics experience is a plus
