Title: Cost Accountant
Location: Spring City, PA (On-site, Full-Time)
Compensation: $90K - $120K + Bonus + Full Benefits Package
About the Role:
As an established manufacturing organization, we're seeking a Cost Accountant to take ownership of our product costing, inventory accounting, manufacturing analysis, and financial reporting activities. This position will play a critical role in maintaining cost integrity throughout the organization while partnering closely with Operations to improve profitability and support business decision-making.
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on cost accounting experience with an understanding of standard costing, inventory controls, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Operations leadership to analyze business performance, profitability, and cost drivers.
- Maintain the standard cost system and perform product costing, margin analysis, and inventory valuation activities.
- Manage inventory reconciliations, cycle counts, physical inventory support, and excess/obsolete reserve calculations.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting financial analyses.
- Support internal and external audits while ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal control requirements.
- Generate reporting and insights that support data-driven business decisions.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities impacting operational and financial performance.
- Support capital investment analysis and business case evaluations.
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Commercial, and Leadership teams to improve processes and drive business results.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or relevant field of study
- 3+ years of accounting experience with at least 1 year of direct cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, standard costing, inventory accounting, product costing, and financial analysis.
- Experience with large ERP systems required
- Advanced Excel and analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and profitability drivers.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to effectively partner with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
- High level of accountability, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy.
