Job summary

Creative Financial Staffing, LLC is seeking a Cost Accountant to join our Vernon Hills, IL finance team. This role offers exposure to a global manufacturing environment and opportunities to impact cost performance.

You will support month-end close, inventory valuation, standard cost setting, and cost analysis, driving improvements across labor, overhead, and operations. Strong Excel, ERP experience, and GAAP knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2+ years of cost accounting experience.
• Strong Excel and Office Suite proficiency.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret data for decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Support the Operations Finance Manager as a backup and key partner.
• Assist with month-end close, inventory valuation, and roll-forward analysis.
• Maintain inventory relief processes for subcomponents and finished goods.
• Conduct quarterly physical inventories and cycle counts, resolving discrepancies.
• Establish and update standard costs for manufactured products.
• Analyze cost accounting data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Develop cost structures across labor, overhead, and operational processes.
• Provide strategic recommendations to improve cost efficiency and profitability.
• Stay current on industry trends, tools, and best practices.
• Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis.
