Job summary

Partnership Employment in Western Massachusetts is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join its finance team. You will own product costing, analyze manufacturing variances, and support inventory valuation.

You will also participate in budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, and plant finance, working with operations to turn data into cost-saving actions and improved business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain standard costing for the manufacturing operation
• Analyze material, labor, overhead, usage, and other manufacturing variances
• Partner with plant and operations teams to understand cost drivers and identify opportunities for savings
• Review BOMs, routings, labor rates, and other inputs impacting product costs
• Support inventory accounting, valuation, reserves, and reconciliations
• Track cost-saving initiatives and measure their financial impact
• Support monthly close, including journal entries and manufacturing reporting
• Prepare analysis around plant performance, margins, production activity, and cost trends
• Participate in annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting
• Develop reporting giving leadership visibility into manufacturing performance
• Support ROI and cost-benefit analysis for operational and capital projects
• Identify opportunities to automate or improve accounting/reporting processes
• Assist with additional general accounting activities within finance team

You'll be the go-to resource for product costing, manufacturing variances, inventory, and cost-saving analysis while also getting exposure to budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, and broader plant finance.

This isn't a role where you're just pulling reports. The team wants someone who can dig into the numbers, understand why costs are moving, and work directly with operations to turn that information into better business decisions.

What You'll Be Doing
