Job summary

CFS in Houston, TX, is seeking a Manufacturing Cost Accountant to drive standard costing, inventory controls, and production reporting across a multi-site operation. You will partner with finance and operations to influence pricing accuracy, costing precision, and profitability.

Ideal candidate has 3–5+ years in cost accounting within manufacturing, strong Excel and ERP experience, and a knack for cross-functional collaboration and process improvements that boost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5+ years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management, job costing and BOM structures.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and analyze standard costs for manufactured products.
• Support estimating and project teams with accurate product costing.
• Monitor production variances, labor costs, material usage, and overhead allocations.
• Participate in month-end close activities related to inventory and cost of goods sold.
• Support inventory control, reconciliations, and physical count processes.
• Identify and implement improvements in costing and inventory reporting processes.
