Job summary

West Georgia Technical College is seeking a full-time Cosmetology Instructor to prepare lesson plans, deliver theory and practical Cosmetology instruction, and guide certificate program students toward successful completion.

Under general supervision, you will assess student progress, maintain documentation, and stay current with industry trends. You will participate in professional development and support recruitment and job placement efforts while upholding program accreditation requirements.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Cosmetology from an accredited post-secondary institution or equivalent.
• Current Georgia State Board of Cosmetology and Barbers or Master Cosmetologist License.
• Three (3) out of the past seven (7) years of field experience.
• Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

• Provides instruction in theory and practical applications of Cosmetology.
• Instructs courses in classroom and lab environments that closely simulate the industry.
• Utilizes current technology in the classroom and lab environment.
• Evaluates students’ progress and grades coursework.
• Maintains office hours weekly and provides student support.
• Maintains program certification/accreditation requirements as appropriate.
• Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports.
• Attends professional development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences.
