JOB SUMMARY: Performs a variety of classroom support services and instructional assistance related to the Cosmetology program. Provides support to students and staff under the direction of assigned instructional personnel. This position requires specialized training and/or relevant experience in Cosmetology. Reports to Director.
SALARY: The 2025-2026 salary chart has not been finalized as this is a contract negotiation year, the initial hire range for this position is proposed to be $21.04 - $27.06 per hour.

Qualifications Include But Not Limited To
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Has or is willing and able to obtain a current, valid Ohio Cosmetology Instructor’s License. Has a current, valid Cosmetology license.
- Has or is willing to obtain a valid Ohio Department of Education Substitute License. If needed, the district may assist the selected candidate with the process to obtain licensure.
- At least 2 years experience in Cosmetology. Completion of a CT Program may apply towards one of the two years.
- Professional appearance and demeanor with strong interpersonal skills. Self-directed and able to learn and apply new skills as needed.
- Ability to support students with physical tasks related to career-technical instruction.

- Meets all mandated health requirements. Complies with drug-free workplace rules and board policies.
- A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
Major Duties And Responsibilities

- Assists instructors in classroom and lab settings. May be asked to provide instruction in the absence of the instructor. May be asked to instruct small groups of students.
- Applies career-technical knowledge, experience, and credential(s) where relevant and/or otherwise required to support student instruction.
- May be asked to provide progressively responsible levels of instruction to students in transitioning and expanding program offerings.
- Preps, maintains, and organizes instructional materials, tools, and supplies. Provides hands-on support. Assists in setting up and dismantling demonstrations.
- Supervises students during instructional and non-instructional activities.
- Ensures adherence to safety protocols and proper use of equipment in all instructional areas.
- Reinforces instructional objectives and assists with skill development.
- Supports students with remediation or enrichment activities as directed.
- Monitors student behavior and provides support in maintaining a productive learning environment.
- Reports safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, and student concerns promptly.
- Maintains confidentiality and respects the privacy of students and staff.
- Assists with clerical and record-keeping tasks related to instruction.
- Participates in student assessments and performance evaluations as needed.
- May coordinate with industry partners or support work-based learning experiences.
- Participates in staff meetings, professional development, and school events as directed. Performs other specific job-related duties as assigned.
