Educational Assistant I - Special Education

Cumberland Valley School District has an Educational Assistant (EA) I position, offering 7.5 work hours per day. Employees will be assigned support duties based on building needs, including support in the IMC, ESL, Special Education, Security, Physical Education, or ISS. The starting wage is $18.75/hr for the 2025-2026 school year.

The EA I plays a vital role in fostering a supportive learning environment by working closely with teachers and staff to provide instructional support, manage activities, and assist with educational programs. Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work interactively with students and staff are essential.

Experience with school-aged children, especially those with disabilities, is highly valued. Training will be provided if needed. Candidates should be sensitive to cultural diversity, patient with language learners, and fluent in English; multilingual abilities are a plus.

Requirements include a high school diploma; a two-year Associate's Degree or higher is preferred or the ability to pass a qualified assessment. The position requires standing, sitting, bending, stretching, lifting 50 pounds, and normal hearing and vision. Additionally, candidates must submit:

• PA Child Abuse History Clearance (less than one year old)
• FBI Fingerprint Clearance (less than one year old)
• TB Test/Mantoux (less than 3 months old)
• Physical exam (if applicable, less than 1 year old)
