Job summary

Cosentini Associates, a Tetra Tech company in Chicago, IL, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Electrical team. You will design electrical power systems for diverse buildings, using AutoCAD and Revit, and perform load calculations and short-circuit studies. The role emphasizes collaboration with architects and facility managers.

The ideal candidate holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, 3+ years of relevant experience, and experience with code compliance.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in building power systems design for high rise residential, hotel and office buildings, and other commercial/institutional facilities.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit software.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Excellent technical, communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of code compliance requirements and industry standards.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • PE registration is highly preferred, or EIT with ability to obtain a P.E. in Illinois.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical power design for buildings and facilities including hospitals, laboratories, high-rise residential, hotels and offices.
  • Incorporate design changes using AutoCAD and Revit software.
  • Perform service load calculations and short circuit studies.
  • Meet project schedules and work within budgetary constraints.
  • Attend meetings with architects, owners and building managers to discuss projects.
  • Review submittals and respond to RFIs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Role


  • Performing electrical power design for variety of projects to include but not limited to: buildings and facilities, including hospitals, laboratories, high rise residential, hotel and office, and other commercial and institutional projects.

  • Incorporating design changes using AutoCAD and Revit software

  • Performing service load calculations and short circuit studies

  • Meeting project schedules and performing work with budgetary constraints

  • Attend meetings with architects, owners and building managers to discuss future or current projects

  • Reviewing submittals and providing responses to Requests for Information

  • Performing other duties as assigned


Qualifications


  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the design of building power systems for high rise residential, hotel and office buildings, and other commercial, institutional and healthcare facilities.

  • Proficient with the use of AutoCAD and Revit software.

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

  • Excellent technical skills, strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge and interpretation of code compliance requirements and industry standards

  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and in a highly collaborative team environment

  • PE registration is highly preferred, or EIT with the ability to obtain a P.E. in Illinois

Compensation

Pay commensurate with experience.


Pay Range: $80,000 - $140,000/yr
