Job summary

Cosentini Associates, a Tetra Tech company, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our New York-based team. You will contribute to high-performance building design across hospitals, labs, and commercial projects, delivering power systems design and coordination with architects and contractors.

You will use AutoCAD and Revit, perform load calculations, mentor junior engineers, and help advance sustainable, code-compliant solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • 5–10 years of experience designing building power systems for high-rise and commercial facilities.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • PE registration preferred or EIT pursuing P.E.
  • Willing to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical power systems for buildings and facilities including hospitals and offices.
  • Use AutoCAD and Revit for design updates.
  • Perform load calculations and short-circuit studies.
  • Meet project schedules within budget.
  • Attend meetings with architects, owners and managers.
  • Review submittals and respond to RFIs.
  • Mentor junior engineers.
  • Maintain safety and compliance with procedures.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development.

Your Role
  • Performing electrical power design for variety of projects to include but not limited to: buildings and facilities, including hospitals, laboratories, high rise residential, hotel and office, and other commercial and institutional projects.
  • Incorporating design changes using AutoCad and/or Revit software
  • Performing service load calculations and short circuit studies
  • Meeting project schedules and performing work with budgetary constraints
  • Attend meetings with architects, owners and building managers to discuss future or current projects
  • Reviewing submittals and providing responses to Requests for Information
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards
  • Mentor and train junior engineers on project team
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
  • Additional duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • 5-10 years of experience in the design of building power systems for high rise residential, hotel, and office buildings, and other commercial, institutional and healthcare facilities.
  • Proficient with the use of AutoCAD and Revit software.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Excellent technical skills, strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge and interpretation of code compliance requirements and industry standards
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and in a highly collaborative team environment
  • PE registration is highly preferred, or EIT with the ability to obtain a P.E.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed

Compensation

Pay commensurate with experience.

Pay Range: $100-$130k
