Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Underground Fixed Maintenance Technician for Cortez underground operations. You will be part of a team focused on maintaining fixed mining equipment and ensuring safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of crushing and pump systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair pumps.
• Basic fabrication skills including welding, cutting, brazing, arc welding, and air arc.
• Identify parts by make, model, size, and type for repairs.
• Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics for troubleshooting.
• Read and use precision measuring tools, torque wrenches, and hand tools.
• Excellent safety and attendance record.
• Ability to perform essential functions of the job.
• Ability to work a rotating schedule of nights and days.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Underground Fixed Maintenance Supervisor, the Underground Fixed Maintenance Technician is responsible for the following:

• Perform preventative maintenance and repair of both surface and underground fixed mining equipment such as Crushing Systems, CRF mixing systems, pumps etc.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of Crushing and Pump systems required
• Ability to troubleshoot and complete repair on all pumps required
• Basic fabrication skills including welding and cutting, brazing, arc welding, and air arc required
• Ability to identify parts needed for repairs by make, model, size, and type preferred
• Basic knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics and the ability to apply those skills to troubleshoot and repair systems preferred
• Ability to read and use precision measuring tools, torque wrenches, and hand tools preferred
• Excellent safety and attendance record required
• Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job required
• The ability to work a rotating schedule of nights and days is an essential function of this role.
